In Chania, Crete we provide STCW training courses needed by the Greek seafarer and ship security guards closer to home in local training facilities.
QMS Maritime Training Center, has developed the following STCW Training courses, approved by Cyprus and Malta Flag Administrations, leading to STCW certification. These courses are scheduled monthly in our regional branch office.
* Basic Safety Training STCW, Βασικά Σωστικά
This course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for seafarers for familiarization, basic safety training, first aid, personal safety, survival and firefighting instruction, with practical instruction in fire fighting and survival craft drills.
* STCW 2010 Manila Security Training
SHIP SECURITY OFFICER (2 days/16 hours)
To provide knowledge to those designated to perform duties and responsibilities of Ship Security Officer (SSO) as defined in the ISPS Code, in Section-Table A-VI/5 of the amended STCW Code and taking into account the recommendations prescribed in the IMO model course 3.19. It covers implementation practices of ISPS Code, ship security, understanding of Ship Security Assessment (SSA) process, implementation of Ship Security Plan (SSP) with emphasis on measures per security level, weapons recognition, devices, anti-piracy and armed robbery and contingency planning.
SECURITY TRAINING FOR SEAFARERS w. DESIGNATED SECURITY DUTIES (2 days/10.5 hours)
To provide the knowledge required for seafarers with designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan (SSP), including security-related duties, such as antipiracy and anti-armed robbery related activities (most recent BMP). The training meets, the competence standards defined in Section & Table A-VI/6-2 of the amended STCW Code, the ISPS Code requirements and the recommendations prescribed in the IMO model course 3.26
